About the PM Vishwakarma
PM Vishwakarma is a flagship Central Sector Scheme launched by the Government of India under Ministry of MSME to provide end-to-end support to traditional artisans and craftspeople working with their hands and tools. Covering 18 traditional trades - including pottery, mat weaver, Sculptor, Malakar and Doll & toy maker.
The primary objective of PM Vishwakarma is to strengthen and preserve the rich Guru-Shishya parampara (traditional family-based learning). It aims to formalize, empower, and integrate grassroots artisans into domestic and global value chains, enhancing both the quality and reach of their products.
Key Objectives
- Recognition: Issuance of a PM Vishwakarma ID Card and Certificate.
- Skill Upgradation: Basic and advanced training with a daily stipend of ₹500.
- Toolkit Incentive: A grant of ₹15,000 to purchase modern tools.
- Credit Support: Collateral-free enterprise development loans of up to ₹3 lakh in two tranches at a concessional interest rate of 5%.
- Digital & Marketing Support: Incentives for digital transactions and extensive marketing support, including e-commerce onboarding and brand promotion.
