About the Skill Development Training Program for Industry and Artisans (SDTPIA)
The Skill Development Training Program for Industry and Artisans (SDTPIA) is an apex initiative spearheaded by HCSSC to address skill gaps in traditional craft clusters and industrial sectors. By conducting specialized Technical Design Development Workshops (TDDW) and Skilling, Reskilling, and Upskilling (SRU) courses, the program brings modern technology, contemporary color palettes, and global design catalogs directly to the artisan's doorstep, improving product value and marketability.
Key Objectives
- Organize technical and design-led workshops (1 to 3 days) in traditional heritage craft clusters to update local artisans on global design trends.
- Implement customized Skilling, Reskilling, and Upskilling (SRU) programs tailored to specific handicraft export demands.
- Familiarize artisans with advanced tools, eco-friendly raw materials, and cost-effective production methods.
- Introduce standardized quality check (QC) parameters to reduce production rejection rates in export markets.
- Establish collaborations between experienced master craftspeople, export houses, and design institutes.
